Our Story
Waterford Oaks Elementary School was dedicated in August 1990 and now serves several rapidly growing neighborhoods of the Cedar Hill Independent School District. In 2001-2002, the school was renovated and expanded to accommodate the student growth. The new building addition includes both kindergarten and first grade wings.
Our school offers educational programs, pre-kindergarten through fifth grade, with students ranging in age from 3 to 12 years. The staff consists of professional educators and support staff, many of whom hold specialized teaching credentials and advanced degrees in education from a variety of higher learning institutions.
The school serves an ethnically and economically diverse community including Hispanics, Anglos, African Americans, Asians and American Indians. Cedar Hill's wonderfully broad-based community offers a great deal of educational enrichment and support, and its members are very involved in the learning environment. Waterford Oaks' staff and parents expect excellence in all aspects of the school experience.
In an effort to provide a safe and orderly environment, Waterford Oaks utilizes a campus developed discipline management plan for all students. By being proactive, we hope to decrease discipline problems in the classrooms. Character traits such as trustworthiness, respect, caring, responsibility, fairness and citizenship are emphasized and reinforced throughout the school year.
We maintain high expectations for the educational success of all our children. This is achieved through the collaborative effort of parents and teachers. Together, we comprise the core of the Waterford Oaks Education Team.
