Our Principal
Barbara Moham

Barbara Moham is a retired public school educator with nearly 40 years of experience serving students, educators, and school communities across Arkansas, Louisiana, and Texas. Her career reflects a deep commitment to instructional excellence, literacy development, and the building of high-quality schools.
Ms. Moham holds degrees from Northwestern State University and the University of Central Arkansas, where she earned a Master of Science in Education with a focus on Reading (K–12). She also completed graduate studies in Educational Leadership (K–12) at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Additionally, she completed extensive professional studies at Harvard University, earning certifications in Urban Education and the Data Wise Improvement Model, with a focus on data analysis and urban school leadership.
Throughout her career, Ms. Moham has held multiple certifications, including Principal (EC–12), Supervisor (PreK–12), Master Reading Teacher, Reading Specialist, Curriculum Specialist, English as a Second Language, and Elementary Generalist, reflecting her broad instructional and leadership expertise.
Ms. Moham began her career as a classroom teacher in Louisiana and Arkansas before advancing into leadership roles. She served for over 20 years with the Dallas Independent School District, where she held positions as Elementary Principal, Secondary Principal, Master Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction, and Reading Specialist. She was also the Founding Principal of Zan Wesley Holmes Jr. Middle School and served as a cluster and feeder-pattern principal leader, supporting both elementary and secondary campuses.
In addition to her K–12 service, Ms. Moham has taught at the collegiate level as an Assistant Professor of Education at Arkansas Baptist College and as a college instructor at the University of Central Arkansas.
Ms. Moham has received numerous awards and recognitions, including Teacher of the Year, Master Principal, and Cluster Principal of the Year. She was named a Distinguished Educator by Northwestern State University and recognized by the Dallas ISD Board of Education for Academic Excellence. Her professional honors also include selection as a Deloitte Courageous Principal Fellow and receipt of a Harvard University summer grant from Raise Your Hand Texas.
Ms. Moham’s legacy is defined by her unwavering commitment to educational equity, literacy, leadership development, and academic excellence.
